We then make the hardwired connection to the oven or cooktop, install an isolator switch if required, and test full operation. For gas-to-induction conversions, the electrical work is straightforward but the switchboard capacity needs to be checked — induction cooktops draw significantly more power than gas cooktops, and older switchboards may need upgrading to support the additional load.
