CONSIDERED / FROM START TO FINISH

Behind the finish.
Every detail counts.

We assess the relevant circuits and discuss full or partial replacement. Cable routes, the switchboard and the fittings you want to keep are considered as one installation.

Access makes a difference. We explain likely openings, planned power interruptions and who will handle patching and painting before the work starts.

WHAT AFFECTS THE PRICE

What affects the price?
The factors, explained.

Every rewire is different, so we give a fixed written price after an assessment. These are the things that change it.

Size of the home
More rooms and circuits mean more cable, more fittings and more testing.
Access
Roof space height, subfloor access and two-storey walls change how cables can be run.
Wall construction
Plasterboard, lath and plaster, and brick walls each need different methods; some need chasing or surface conduit.
Full or partial
Rewiring only the oldest circuits, or doing the work in stages, changes the scope.
The switchboard
An older board is often replaced at the same time, which also needs independent inspection.
Patching & making good
Plaster patching and painting are agreed upfront, including who does them.

03 / KNOW YOUR SETUP

Know the scope.
Before we start.

A rewire is planned for the particular home. We agree the practical details alongside the electrical work.

Full or partial
The assessment determines which circuits need replacement. We explain the findings and the scope, rather than recommending a full rewire based on the home's age alone.
Access & finishes
Roof, wall and underfloor access affect cable routes and the finish. Any making-good work is clearly included or excluded in the quote.
Switchboard & capacity
We check the board and circuit protection alongside the wiring. Any necessary upgrade is explained and itemised; it is not assumed to be part of every rewire.
Testing & handover
The completed installation is tested and a Certificate of Electrical Safety is provided for the electrical installation work. Required independent inspection is arranged where applicable.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do you provide house rewiring in Camberwell?

Yes. We cover every part of Camberwell (VIC 3124). Tell us your street and what you need, and we will confirm when we can be in Camberwell. We also cover Canterbury and Glen Iris.

How do I know if my Camberwell home needs rewiring?

Warning signs include rubber or fabric-insulated cable, frequent tripping, scorched outlets, and too few power points. They are more common in Camberwell's older homes. A safety inspection is a good starting point; we explain whether a full rewire, a partial rewire or targeted repairs make sense.

Do you work on period homes in Camberwell?

Yes. Period homes often have lath-and-plaster ceilings, decorative features and older wiring, so we plan access and fixings carefully and check the existing circuits before adding to them.

What affects the cost of rewiring a house?

The size of the home, roof and subfloor access, the wall construction, whether it is a full or partial rewire, any switchboard work and the patching required. We give a fixed written price after an assessment.

How long does rewiring take?

There is no reliable timeframe without seeing the scope and access. We provide a proposed schedule after assessment and discuss anything that could affect it.

What documentation do we receive?

A Certificate of Electrical Safety is provided for the electrical installation work. We also explain the circuits and any follow-up work identified during the job.

What information helps with a quote?

Your suburb, approximate home size, what prompted the enquiry and any existing inspection report are useful. Photos are optional. There is no need to enter a roof space or expose wiring.

YOUR HOME / YOUR AREA

Camberwell.
A clearer next step.

About 22,000 people live in Camberwell, in about 7,910 occupied homes (2021 Census). Camberwell has many older homes, and wiring from earlier decades can include deteriorated insulation, few circuits and few power points per room. With 60% separate houses, roof space and subfloor access usually decide how cables are run. 42% of homes are owned outright, and long-held homes are often where the original wiring has been extended the most. Neighbouring Canterbury (48%) and Glen Iris (37%) sit either side of Camberwell on this measure.

Our Lalor base is about 20 km from Camberwell, which lies to the south, in Melbourne's inner east, around Burke Road and the Camberwell Market. Camberwell sits within the Boroondara council area. The same service is available in nearby Canterbury, Glen Iris, Hawthorn East and Surrey Hills.
