Worked Example

How a Smart Charger Can Avoid a Board Upgrade

A family gets home from work. The house is in full swing — ducted aircon running, kids on the PlayStation, dinner on the stove — and they are already pulling 28 amps from their 40-amp single-phase supply.

They plug in their EV.

A standard 32A charger would push the board straight over its limit and trip the main switch.
