CONSIDERED / FROM START TO FINISH

Behind the finish.
Every detail counts.

We assess the relevant circuits and discuss full or partial replacement. Cable routes, the switchboard and the fittings you want to keep are considered as one installation.

Access makes a difference. We explain likely openings, planned power interruptions and who will handle patching and painting before the work starts.

WHAT AFFECTS THE PRICE

What affects the price?
The factors, explained.

Every rewire is different, so we give a fixed written price after an assessment. These are the things that change it.

Size of the home
More rooms and circuits mean more cable, more fittings and more testing.
Access
Roof space height, subfloor access and two-storey walls change how cables can be run.
Wall construction
Plasterboard, lath and plaster, and brick walls each need different methods; some need chasing or surface conduit.
Full or partial
Rewiring only the oldest circuits, or doing the work in stages, changes the scope.
The switchboard
An older board is often replaced at the same time, which also needs independent inspection.
Patching & making good
Plaster patching and painting are agreed upfront, including who does them.

03 / KNOW YOUR SETUP

Know the scope.
Before we start.

A rewire is planned for the particular home. We agree the practical details alongside the electrical work.

Full or partial
The assessment determines which circuits need replacement. We explain the findings and the scope, rather than recommending a full rewire based on the home's age alone.
Access & finishes
Roof, wall and underfloor access affect cable routes and the finish. Any making-good work is clearly included or excluded in the quote.
Switchboard & capacity
We check the board and circuit protection alongside the wiring. Any necessary upgrade is explained and itemised; it is not assumed to be part of every rewire.
Testing & handover
The completed installation is tested and a Certificate of Electrical Safety is provided for the electrical installation work. Required independent inspection is arranged where applicable.

We complete the agreed work, test the installation and explain the result with the relevant safety documentation.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do you provide house rewiring in Spotswood?

Yes. We cover every part of Spotswood (VIC 3015). Tell us your street and what you need, and we will confirm when we can be in Spotswood. We also cover Altona North and Newport.

How do I know if my Spotswood home needs rewiring?

Warning signs include rubber or fabric-insulated cable, frequent tripping, scorched outlets, and too few power points. They are more common in Spotswood's older homes. A safety inspection is a good starting point; we explain whether a full rewire, a partial rewire or targeted repairs make sense.

Do you work on period homes in Spotswood?

Yes. Period homes often have lath-and-plaster ceilings, decorative features and older wiring, so we plan access and fixings carefully and check the existing circuits before adding to them.

Does an older house always need a full rewire?

No. Age is a reason to assess the wiring, not a diagnosis. We consider its condition, previous alterations and test results before recommending full or partial replacement.

Can you rewire only part of a house?

Yes, where the assessment supports it. We identify the affected circuits and consider how new work connects with the installation that will remain.

Can we stay at home during the work?

That depends on the work and how power can be safely isolated. Tell us about occupancy and any essential equipment so we can discuss staging and practical arrangements before you book.

What information helps with a quote?

Your suburb, approximate home size, what prompted the enquiry and any existing inspection report are useful. Photos are optional. There is no need to enter a roof space or expose wiring.

YOUR HOME / YOUR AREA

Spotswood.
A clearer next step.

About 2,800 people live in Spotswood, in about 1,060 occupied homes (2021 Census). Spotswood has many older homes, and wiring from earlier decades can include deteriorated insulation, few circuits and few power points per room. Two-storey townhouses (19% of homes) need routes planned between floors. The share of homes owned outright is 27% in Spotswood, lower than in next-door Altona North (36%) and Newport (28%).

Spotswood is about 21 km south-west of our Lalor base, in Melbourne's inner west, around Scienceworks and Spotswood station. Spotswood sits within the Hobsons Bay council area. The same service is available in nearby Altona North, Newport, Port Melbourne and West Melbourne.
