CONSIDERED / FROM START TO FINISH

Behind the finish.
Every detail counts.

We assess the relevant circuits and discuss full or partial replacement. Cable routes, the switchboard and the fittings you want to keep are considered as one installation.

Access makes a difference. We explain likely openings, planned power interruptions and who will handle patching and painting before the work starts.

WHAT AFFECTS THE PRICE

What affects the price?
The factors, explained.

Every rewire is different, so we give a fixed written price after an assessment. These are the things that change it.

Size of the home
More rooms and circuits mean more cable, more fittings and more testing.
Access
Roof space height, subfloor access and two-storey walls change how cables can be run.
Wall construction
Plasterboard, lath and plaster, and brick walls each need different methods; some need chasing or surface conduit.
Full or partial
Rewiring only the oldest circuits, or doing the work in stages, changes the scope.
The switchboard
An older board is often replaced at the same time, which also needs independent inspection.
Patching & making good
Plaster patching and painting are agreed upfront, including who does them.

03 / KNOW YOUR SETUP

Know the scope.
Before we start.

A rewire is planned for the particular home. We agree the practical details alongside the electrical work.

Full or partial
The assessment determines which circuits need replacement. We explain the findings and the scope, rather than recommending a full rewire based on the home's age alone.
Access & finishes
Roof, wall and underfloor access affect cable routes and the finish. Any making-good work is clearly included or excluded in the quote.
Switchboard & capacity
We check the board and circuit protection alongside the wiring. Any necessary upgrade is explained and itemised; it is not assumed to be part of every rewire.
Testing & handover
The completed installation is tested and a Certificate of Electrical Safety is provided for the electrical installation work. Required independent inspection is arranged where applicable.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do you provide house rewiring in Vermont?

Yes. We cover every part of Vermont (VIC 3133). Tell us your street and what you need, and we will confirm when we can be in Vermont. We also cover Forest Hill and Mitcham.

How do I know if my Vermont home needs rewiring?

Warning signs include rubber or fabric-insulated cable, frequent tripping, scorched outlets, and too few power points. A safety inspection is a good starting point; we explain whether a full rewire, a partial rewire or targeted repairs make sense.

What affects the cost of house rewiring in Vermont?

Mainly access (roof space, subfloor and wall construction), the existing circuits and whether the switchboard has room for the work. 80% of Vermont homes are separate houses, where roof and subfloor access usually make cable runs simpler. We confirm the scope before quoting.

Will the walls or ceilings need opening?

They may. Existing access, the construction and proposed cable routes determine what is possible. We explain likely openings and agree responsibility for patching and painting in the written scope.

Is a switchboard upgrade included?

Only when it is part of the agreed scope. We assess the existing switchboard and explain whether changes are needed for the rewiring or additional circuits.

How long does rewiring take?

There is no reliable timeframe without seeing the scope and access. We provide a proposed schedule after assessment and discuss anything that could affect it.

What documentation do we receive?

A Certificate of Electrical Safety is provided for the electrical installation work. We also explain the circuits and any follow-up work identified during the job.

YOUR HOME / YOUR AREA

Vermont.
A clearer next step.

Vermont had about 10,990 residents and about 4,020 homes at the 2021 Census, with a median age of 40. Vermont's mix of older and newer homes means rewiring ranges from whole houses to single circuits. With 80% separate houses, roof space and subfloor access usually decide how cables are run. For comparison, the share of homes owned outright in Vermont (39%) is higher than in neighbouring Forest Hill (38%) and Mitcham (35%).

From Lalor, Vermont is roughly 25 km to the south-east, in Melbourne's east, near Bellbird Dell. Vermont sits within the Whitehorse council area. Next door, we also cover Forest Hill, Mitcham, Nunawading and Ringwood.
