CAULFIELD / MELBOURNE'S INNER SOUTH-EAST
Much of Caulfield's housing is period homes, from Edwardian houses and Californian bungalows to interwar brick homes, many extended or renovated over the years.
The 2021 Census counted about 2,150 occupied homes in Caulfield, made up of 40% separate houses, 38% townhouses, terraces or semi-detached homes and 22% flats and apartments. About 32% of households in Caulfield rent, 37% own their home outright and 28% are paying off a mortgage. Neighbouring Caulfield North (36%) and Caulfield South (55%) sit either side of Caulfield on this measure.
Townhouses and semi-detached homes (38% here, 16% of all homes being two storeys or more) often have the meter box, switchboard and garage in different places, so cable routes are planned before anything is quoted.
In postcode 3162, about 1,330 rooftop solar systems have been installed since 2001 and 225 home batteries since July 2025 (Clean Energy Regulator). Solar inverters, batteries and EV chargers all connect through the switchboard, so its capacity and space are worth checking before adding them. For comparison, the share of households with two or more cars in Caulfield (50%) falls between neighbouring Caulfield North (44%) and Caulfield South (57%).
Caulfield sits within the Glen Eira council area. We also work in the suburbs next door: Caulfield North, Caulfield South, Elsternwick and Glen Huntly. Local landmarks include Caulfield Park and Caulfield Racecourse.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED
Yes. We work right across Caulfield (VIC 3162), up to the borders with Caulfield North, Caulfield South and Elsternwick. Include your street in the enquiry so we can confirm the booking details.
Victorian rental providers must arrange an electrical safety check at least every two years, and smoke alarms need to be tested every year. About 32% of Caulfield's households rent (about 680 homes at the 2021 Census), so we can work with you or your agent on access and provide the written report.
It is worth checking before adding major load such as air conditioning, an induction cooktop or an EV charger. Older boards can have rewireable fuses or circuits without safety-switch protection. We assess the board and explain what, if anything, needs to change.
Tell us what you want changed, your street in Caulfield and any access details. For a townhouse, mention where the meter box and switchboard are. Photos are optional; there is no need to remove electrical covers.
Call 0495 096 344 or use the enquiry below. We review the job and discuss availability and the next step. A submitted request does not itself confirm a booking.
