CONSIDERED / FROM START TO FINISH

Position first.
Then the finishing detail.

We discuss alignment with joinery, furniture and adjacent lighting. A final height is agreed on site with the fitting’s adjustment range and safe clearances in mind.

Moving a ceiling point can involve a new cable route and making good the old opening. We explain those details before committing to a position.

03 / KNOW YOUR SETUP

Before it goes up.
Get the details right.

The product dimensions, weight and mounting instructions are as useful as a picture of the design.

Ceiling support
Mounting must suit the fitting’s weight and instructions. Existing light-point support is not assumed to be adequate.
Suspension height
Agree the drop for the room, furniture and fitting. There is no single height that suits every pendant.
Switching & dimming
Check the lamp or integrated driver against the proposed dimmer. Not every decorative fitting is dimmable.
Relocation & repairs
New positions may leave old openings. Agree cable access, patching and painting responsibilities before installation.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do you provide pendant light installation in Melbourne CBD?

Yes. We cover every part of Melbourne CBD (VIC 3000), on both the Melbourne and Port Phillip sides of the council boundary. Include your street and a short description of the job, and we will come back to you about timing. We also cover Carlton and East Melbourne.

Can a heavy pendant be hung from my Melbourne CBD ceiling?

Usually, with the right support. We check the ceiling structure and add a suitable fixing for the fitting's weight. Concrete ceilings need a different fixing method.

Does pendant light installation in a Melbourne CBD apartment need owners corporation approval?

It depends on the building's rules. Work that touches common property, the building's structure or shared services usually needs approval, while work inside your own apartment may not. 99% of homes in Melbourne CBD are flats or apartments, so we check the building's requirements with you before booking.

Can you install pendants I supply?

Yes, subject to suitability. Send the product details, weight and installation instructions before arranging the work.

Can the pendant be moved away from the existing light point?

Often, but access and cable routing determine what is possible. An old opening may need patching and painting by the appropriate trade.

How high should pendants hang?

We consider ceiling height, the fitting, furniture and clearances. The final position is agreed for your room rather than taken from a universal measurement.

Can three pendants use one switch?

That can be possible with the right wiring and controls. We discuss whether you want grouped or separate operation during planning.

YOUR HOME / YOUR AREA

Melbourne CBD.
A clearer next step.

Melbourne CBD had about 54,940 residents and about 39,650 homes at the 2021 Census, with a median age of 29. 99% of Melbourne CBD homes are apartments, where concrete ceilings usually mean a pendant hangs from an existing point, with the fixing chosen to suit the slab. Heavier fittings need a fixing into the ceiling structure, which we check before the light arrives. By comparison, the share of homes that are flats or apartments is lower in neighbouring Carlton (81%) and East Melbourne (74%).

From Lalor, Melbourne CBD is roughly 18 km to the south, in the centre of Melbourne, around Federation Square and Southern Cross Station. Melbourne CBD is split between the Melbourne council area (about 82% of the suburb) and Port Phillip. We also work in neighbouring Carlton, East Melbourne, North Melbourne and Parkville.
