ELECTRICAL TESTING / VOLTRA ELECTRICAL

CONSIDERED / FROM START TO FINISH

The installation.
The findings. The record.

We assess the electrical installation and fittings within the required check, including circuit protection, earthing, outlets and lighting. Access and any limitations are recorded.

You receive a written report explaining the result and any required action. Repair work is a separate scope, with urgency explained where safety is involved.

03 / KNOW YOUR SETUP

Clear responsibilities.
Useful documentation.

Electrical checks, smoke alarm checks and repair certificates serve different purposes. We keep the scope clear.

The check interval
Two-yearly electrical checks apply to Victorian rental agreements entered into after 29 March 2021, including later rollovers from fixed-term to periodic agreements. Older continuing arrangements have separate guidance.
The written record
Keep the latest electrical safety-check record until the next is created. Consumer Affairs Victoria also sets out when it must be provided to a renter.
Inspection and repairs
An inspection report records the check. A Certificate of Electrical Safety relates to electrical installation or repair work; it is not a substitute for the check report.
Smoke alarms & gas
Smoke alarm checks are a separate requirement and can be discussed when arranging the visit. Gas checks require an appropriately qualified gasfitter and are not included in this electrical service.

04 / FROM FIRST LOOK TO FINAL CHECK

    Inspect and report.

We carry out the check, record the findings and explain any immediate concerns, limitations or follow-up work.

  4. 04

    Agree the next action.

You receive the written report. Where repairs are needed, we explain the priority and quote the additional work.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do you provide rental electrical safety checks in Croydon?

Yes. We cover every part of Croydon (VIC 3136). Tell us your street and what you need, and we will confirm when we can be in Croydon. We also cover Croydon Hills and Croydon North.

Can you coordinate access with my agent in Croydon?

Yes. We can arrange the visit with your property manager and the tenant, and send the report to you and the agent. Most Croydon rentals are agent-managed (73% at the 2021 Census).

What affects the cost of rental electrical safety checks in Croydon?

Mainly access (roof space, subfloor and wall construction), the existing circuits and whether the switchboard has room for the work. 83% of Croydon homes are separate houses, where roof and subfloor access usually make cable runs simpler. We confirm the scope before quoting.

How often is an electrical safety check required?

For the rental agreements covered by Victoria's rules, the interval is at least every two years. Applicability depends on the agreement's start or rollover date. See the current Consumer Affairs Victoria guidance linked above.

What if there is no recent check when a renter moves in?

For covered agreements, Consumer Affairs Victoria says the check must be completed as soon as possible if none was done within the previous two years. Tell us the circumstances when arranging a visit.

What report will we receive?

A written record of the electrical safety check, with the electrician's details, date, findings and actions. A Certificate of Electrical Safety is provided separately when electrical installation or repair work requires it.

Does this include gas or every rental minimum standard?

No. This service is an electrical safety check. Gas safety and other rental requirements need their own appropriate checks; we clearly confirm the electrical scope before the visit.

YOUR HOME / YOUR AREA

Croydon.
A clearer next step.

The 2021 Census counted about 12,080 dwellings in Croydon, home to about 28,610 people with a median age of 39. At the 2021 Census, 26% of Croydon's households rented, about 2,990 homes, and 73% of those rentals were managed through a real estate agent. Victorian rental providers must arrange an electrical safety check at least every two years, and smoke alarms must be tested every year. Most rentals here are houses, where the check covers the switchboard, safety switches, power, lighting and fixed appliances. By comparison, the share of households renting is lower in neighbouring Croydon Hills (10%) and Croydon North (18%).

Our Lalor base is about 28 km from Croydon, which lies to the south-east, in Melbourne's outer east, around Main Street and Croydon station. Croydon sits within the Maroondah council area. We also work in neighbouring Croydon Hills, Croydon North, Croydon South and Ringwood.
