ELECTRICAL TESTING / VOLTRA ELECTRICAL

CONSIDERED / FROM START TO FINISH

The installation.
The findings. The record.

We assess the electrical installation and fittings within the required check, including circuit protection, earthing, outlets and lighting. Access and any limitations are recorded.

You receive a written report explaining the result and any required action. Repair work is a separate scope, with urgency explained where safety is involved.

03 / KNOW YOUR SETUP

Clear responsibilities.
Useful documentation.

Electrical checks, smoke alarm checks and repair certificates serve different purposes. We keep the scope clear.

The check interval
Two-yearly electrical checks apply to Victorian rental agreements entered into after 29 March 2021, including later rollovers from fixed-term to periodic agreements. Older continuing arrangements have separate guidance.
The written record
Keep the latest electrical safety-check record until the next is created. Consumer Affairs Victoria also sets out when it must be provided to a renter.
Inspection and repairs
An inspection report records the check. A Certificate of Electrical Safety relates to electrical installation or repair work; it is not a substitute for the check report.
Smoke alarms & gas
Smoke alarm checks are a separate requirement and can be discussed when arranging the visit. Gas checks require an appropriately qualified gasfitter and are not included in this electrical service.

04 / FROM FIRST LOOK TO FINAL CHECK

Clear at every step.

We agree the visit and access arrangements with the authorised contact, including the checks and any separate smoke alarm scope.

  3. 03

    Inspect and report.

We carry out the check, record the findings and explain any immediate concerns, limitations or follow-up work.

  4. 04

    Agree the next action.

You receive the written report. Where repairs are needed, we explain the priority and quote the additional work.

05 / BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do you provide rental electrical safety checks in Glen Iris?

Yes. We cover every part of Glen Iris (VIC 3146), on both the Boroondara and Stonnington sides of the council boundary. Tell us your street and what you need, and we will confirm when we can be in Glen Iris. We also cover Camberwell and Hawthorn East.

Can you coordinate access with my agent in Glen Iris?

Yes. We can arrange the visit with your property manager and the tenant, and send the report to you and the agent. Most Glen Iris rentals are agent-managed (81% at the 2021 Census).

Do you work on period homes in Glen Iris?

Yes. Period homes often have lath-and-plaster ceilings, decorative features and older wiring, so we plan access and fixings carefully and check the existing circuits before adding to them.

Are repairs included in the check?

Repairs are quoted separately unless expressly included in the agreed scope. We explain the findings and any urgent safety action, then discuss the required rectification.

Can you work with our property manager?

Yes. We accept work orders and can coordinate the visit through the authorised property contact. Include a reference or access notes when making the enquiry; private tenant details can be arranged directly later.

Can smoke alarms be checked at the same visit?

We can discuss adding a smoke alarm check to the visit. It is a separate scope and frequency from the electrical check, so tell us what is needed when arranging the work.

Does this include gas or every rental minimum standard?

No. This service is an electrical safety check. Gas safety and other rental requirements need their own appropriate checks; we clearly confirm the electrical scope before the visit.

YOUR HOME / YOUR AREA

Glen Iris.
A clearer next step.

Glen Iris had about 26,130 residents and about 11,000 homes at the 2021 Census, with a median age of 40. At the 2021 Census, 28% of Glen Iris's households rented, about 2,730 homes, and 81% of those rentals were managed through a real estate agent. Victorian rental providers must arrange an electrical safety check at least every two years, and smoke alarms must be tested every year. Most rentals here are houses, where the check covers the switchboard, safety switches, power, lighting and fixed appliances. Neighbouring Camberwell (25%) and Hawthorn East (40%) sit either side of Glen Iris on this measure.

Glen Iris is about 21 km south of our Lalor base, in Melbourne's inner south-east, near Gardiners Creek and Glen Iris station. Glen Iris is split between the Boroondara council area (about 67% of the suburb) and Stonnington. We also work in neighbouring Camberwell, Hawthorn East, Malvern and Malvern East.
